Serving the Gulf Ports

I understand that Members are the Union and are MM&P’s greatest strength and should have a voice locally. I will be an advocate and a leader located in the Gulf where I would be present and available to the membership just as I have been here on the West Coast.

I’ve seen the importance of showing up, and of being present, and available to understand the needs and concerns of the membership.  Service is my driving force.

    Goals for the Gulf Ports
  • Be present in the Houston Hall
  • Meet ships that call in the Gulf Ports
  • Monthly membership meetings as required by the Work Rules
  • Quarterly meetings in all ports as required and pensioner/local meetings in New Orleans and Mobile when called for
  • Committees of members involved in contract negotiations, including Seacor in 2022.
  • Having worked closely with MEBA on other contracts, I’ll work hard to stand up for MM&P members on the Hapag-Lloyd/MTL vessels
  • Become a delegate to Labor Councils in all ports and with local member involvement
  • Attend Port Councils in all ports
  • Develop relationships with Ports, Unions, Longshore, and Members of Congress within their districts.
  • Seek out new employment opportunities

Goals for Gov’t Contracts

  • Meet Gov’t vessels in US Ports
  • Transparency in shipping, training requirements, and availability of training.
  • Up to date information on where the contracts stand
  • Member input for contract negotiations. What are your priorities?
  • Be a faithful advocate for members worldwide. You will not be forgotten.

I plan to stay in contact with members aboard vessels overseas through virtual meetings to understand what your needs are and how MM&P can support you. I recognize that members aboard ship are often the last to know what’s going on and sometimes do not feel heard. I will continue to bridge that gap! Click here for my Experience
